Digital vignette and toll in Slovenia

A digital vignette, the so-called electronic vignette E-Vinjeta, is required to use Slovenian motorways and expressways. In addition, toll fees are due when driving through the Karawanken Tunnel. However, this only applies to vehicles under 3.5 tonnes. For vehicles over 3.5 tons, a DarsGo transmitter is required.

The vehicle types (toll classes) of the digital vignette for Slovenia

Motorcycle (toll class 1)

All single-lane motor vehicles whose lane is no wider than 50cm fall under toll class 1. The track width can be easily measured with a tape measure. This particularly includes motorcycles.

Cars (toll class 2A)

Toll class 2A includes all two-lane vehicles with a permissible gross vehicle weight (GVW) of 3.5 tonnes. The height of the vehicle above the first axle must not exceed 1.3 meters. Also applies to most motorhomes.

Transporter (toll class 2B)

Toll class 2B includes all two-lane vehicles with a permissible gross vehicle weight (GVW) of 3.5 tonnes. The height of the vehicle above the first axle exceeds 1.3 meters. This generally includes light transporters.

Note

Trailers and caravans do not require a vignette in Slovenia. The only decisive factor is that the weight of the towing vehicle is less than 3.5 tonnes permissible gross vehicle weight (GVW). If the permissible total weight of the trailer is over 3.5 tons, a DarsGo transmitter is required.

7-day vignette
The 7-day vignette is valid for one week. The first day of validity is the day of registration. For example, if you bought the vignette on August 29th, 2023, the vignette is valid until September 4th, 2023, 11:59 p.m. You can buy the 7-day vignette quickly and conveniently online on our website. Annual vignette

Digital route toll Slovenia online

In principle, the vignette requirement applies to all motor vehicles up to a gross vehicle weight of 3.5 tonnes. However, a special toll applies for particularly cost-intensive sections of the route, which is required in addition to the vignette. Separate route toll tariffs apply here:
