Digital vignette and toll in Bulgaria

To use national roads in Bulgaria, a digital vignette is mandatory for all vehicles with a GVW of up to 3.5 tonnes, with the exception of motorcycles. For vehicles over 3.5 tonnes GVW, a route toll is due, which is paid using a passport or transmitter. In addition, there are additional fees for crossing the Danube towards Romania. The vehicle types of the digital vignette for Bulgaria

Motorcycle

In Bulgaria, all motorways and national roads require a vignette for motor vehicles. The only exception is vehicles with two wheels, such as motorcycles and trikes.

Car

All motor vehicles, for passenger or freight transport, with a permissible gross vehicle weight (GVW) of up to 3.5 tonnes are subject to a vignette in Bulagria. This also applies to mobile homes.

Motorhomes

Residential vehicles with a GVW of over 3.5 tonnes do not require a vignette but must pay a route-dependent toll and are charged according to the Euro emission class.

Note

Trailers and caravans do not require a vignette in Bulgaria as long as the total vehicle train does not exceed the technical maximum total weight of 3.5 tonnes. If the permissible total weight exceeds 3.5 tonnes, the trailer or caravan requires its own vignette.

Weekend vignette
