The checks are carried out directly on the motorways with a vignette requirement through the physical presence of the security organs. The vehicle license plates are checked for valid digital vignettes using a camera system.   <br><br>Driving without a valid digital vignette on motorway routes that require a vignette can result in a penalty or a fine of CZK 20,000. The only exception is the exemption from the vignette requirement.  <br><br>Potential abuses of the exemption regulations are also monitored. If a natural or legal person applies for an exemption even though they are not entitled to do so, with the deliberate intention of exploiting the system, this may be punished with a fine of up to CZK 100,000. If a toll motorway route is driven by a vehicle that benefits from the exemption, but the driver does not make an appropriate declaration as required by law, this may result in a fine of up to CZK 5,000.
